Food Glorious Food!
Day one - Monday;
My first official day on The Body Coach plan and it all went alright.. sort of. Given that I wasn’t fully prepared I got off to a good start and had a smoothie for breakfast, which was great as I was in a rush. I hadn’t factored in that I’d not gone shopping, and the kids had an extra swim lesson I’d forgotten about. I grabbed a fruit bowl at swimming and then got a call from the orthopaedic surgery asking if I could get my new ankle boot fitted at 2. So by the time that was done I’d totally missed lunch... I grabbed a protein bar then hit the supermarket to make sure I was fully prepped for the rest of the week! I made a fresh pesto pasta for dinner and everyone loved it, although the kids said they liked the jar pesto as it wasn’t as spicy...I think the raw garlic made it taste a bit spicy. Maybe less garlic next time. It was lovely though. This evening I had a bowl of fruit and a blob of Greek yoghurt. I’ve drunk loads of water and feel like I had a good day food wise! Hoorah!
Day two - Tuesday;
Breakfast was another smoothie, I generally run out of time to eat breakfast in the mornings, mostly because I love my bed and end up getting up with just enough time to shower, dress, drill sergeant at the kids to get dressed and brush their teeth, then oversee breakfast time (milk spills and arguments over spoons). I’m a coffee drinker and need my morning brew... so I would rather make my coffee in the cafetière than make a proper breakfast, it takes 2 minutes to chuck everything for the smoothie in my nutribullet, blitz it, pour it in my smoothie cup, pour my coffee in my take out cup and run out the door to the kids swimming practice.
Lunch was sweet corn fritters with a side of avocado and Greek yoghurt. The kids loved it. It was really nice, I’m not sure the Greek yoghurt works though...
I was totally unconvinced at dinner time. It was aubergine Parmesan, I couldn’t see how that would fill me up, but it totally did, and was delicious! This was one my kids wouldn’t eat, they don’t like aubergine, so I was prepared to do 2 dinners, they had the same sauce as us but had it with sausages and pasta. So it was an easy one to swap out.
there’s a lot of ‘making food’ involved with the meals, which I don’t mind as I have always made stuff from scratch, but I can see how if you work or are used to convenience food it would be a pain. If you prep and freeze stuff though it’s easily doable.
I bought a set of scales today and out of interest weighed myself... since I signed up 2 weeks ago I’ve somehow lost 4lbs... it may actually be muscle since I’ve not worked out in a week and a half, but it’s an incentive none the less.... I know I’ve only done the eating bit of the plan for 2 days, but when I did my food diary for the week I tried to eat well that week too plus I’ve not been drinking any alcohol... I feel full all the time and happy I’m doing something about my wobbles!
Xx
