The start of something great!
Last year I got fit, really fit, and healthy. I ate well and went to the gym and did a variety of hiit classes, weights and yoga most days. I loved it. I felt great and my clothes looked good on me. Me and my friends went to Marbella in the summer and I felt confident.
Earlier in the year I’d been diagnosed as having scar endometriosis in my c section scar, the short version is when my daughter was pulled from my tummy a small piece of my endrometriotic lining got caught in the incision. Every month I was in pain for about 2 weeks as I menstruated. So it required an operation in my lower abdomen to remove the growth. This put me out of action in the gym for about a month while I healed. When I did go back it was low intensity exercises. As much as I tried to eat healthy the incentive some what went. At the same time we were planning our move to California and I was out for lots of goodbye dinners and drinks.
When we moved over I had completely lost my mojo, I’d barely been at the gym what with packing and organising etc and my great diet had all but gone. I drank a bottle of wine most nights when we first got here and then ate crisps and chocolate (which I don’t even eat normally) and sat wondering what the hell I’d done moving. It was a good month before I felt a bit more settled, so in that month I’d drank a good deal of wine and eaten a lot of bad food. I also found living here the choice for vegetarians isn’t as good. I’ve since shopped about and found some good stores. I now also go to a studio 5 times a week, where I do leg day, kickboxing twice a week, upper body day and an endurance session. I’m burning around 400-600cals each day. My diet is still not great though, I still snack too much at night. My husband is as bad as me and we tend to affirm each other’s guilty pleasures. I don’t drink anywhere near what I was, and really only drink if I’m out now.
The bottom line is I’m not shifting any excess fat, and the exercise I do isn’t showing on my body due to my diet. So, now there’s a new veggie plan, I’ve signed up to The Body Coach to get some better food ideas and a bit more structure to my diet. During the course of the first week you write a food diary then submit it so the coaches can devise your food plan. On the Thursday of that week I unfortunately badly sprained my ankle sprinting in the gym. I carried on my food diary undeterred, and decided to start the plan regardless. I cannot work out at the moment so I definitely need a decent diet.

Today I received my plan via email. It seems fairly straight forward. I will buy all the stuff I need over the next few days and I plan on starting properly on Monday (today being Thursday). My husband has said he will do it with me as he’d like to eat better too. I fortunately have two unfussy kids who are happy to try the meals too which saves on multiple cooking for me.
I’m excited to try it and looking forward to seeing my body change, hopefully back to how I looked last summer.
Xx
